Mark Reader for Castle

About Me

I am standing in the ward I live in and love to fight for your interests and sort out dozens of local problems. I ask for your vote on Thursday 3rd May to join Castle's Labour County Councillor Claire Richards, and create a hard working Labour county and city team for Castle.

My community work and campaigning contributed to Labour's first victory in Castle Ward - electing Cllr Claire Richards for the County Council last year. I am committed to rigorous community engagement, listening to the views of all residents, and truly representing you. I have spoken every year since 2013, on the doorstep with hundreds of Castle households.

I bring the experience of an economist, who has worked in many countries, including as a farm economist in Cambridge University since 2003. I won my post in Land Economy and in the last 15 years I have contributed to policy studies, teaching, knowledge creation and publishing statistics. I serve in a church, and as a Christian, I have also participated in the anti-corruption charity, Transparency UK.

And from work in development in Peru, South Africa and Nicaragua, I have a great appreciation of the challenges of development, locally as well as internationally.
