Ann Sinnott for Petersfield

About Me

As a local resident, Petersfield Ward is my home. I was privileged when you elected me as your local Councillor in 2014, so our shared neighbourhood is also my political home.

Petersfield is the most densely populated Ward in the City and this generates all manner of neighbourhood frictions, as well as traffic and environmental problems. Though we are well-served, at least, with children's play areas, we have few green spaces.

As your ward councillor, I have worked to resolve neighbourhood disputes and to secure funds for improvements, e.g. the landscaping project at the intersection of East Road Estate/St Matthew's Street, and a soon-to-be-installed light on St Matthew's Piece.

I continue to work with fellow councillors to secure a reduction in traffic and a zebra-crossing in Great Northern Road to improve road traffic safety in the area.

I continue, with fellow councillors, to work with Petersfield Area Community Trust (PACT) to secure a community centre for Petersfield on the Mill Road depot site, off Mill Road.

As Lead Councillor on Community Safety, I am a point of contact for residents. There are currently three Anti-Social Behaviour hotspots, all including drug issues, which I am working to resolve with the council's Community Safety Team and the police.

If re-elected as your Councillor, I pledge to continue to do all I can to solve problems and to press for improvements, so that our shared neighbourhood continues to be a lovely place to live.
